The Douchaise is a chair that turns into a shower (if you can believe it). I created this object for the "Watershed" show, the first exhibition that Elseware ever had. Watershed was a show inspired by the bathroom.

When you first see the object, in its chair state it doesn't look that unusual. However, once the chair is opened and the walls of the shower are neumatically inflating its very clear that this is not your grandmother's chair.

Inside the inflated walls are a dressing room and a shower room. Underneath the shower's floor there is a water pump, thermostat, water heater, pump, and a blower to neumaticlaly inflate the walls.

This is a concept piece of furniture that I would love to have the funding to do more research and development on. Hammacher Schlemmer showed interest in this (cool).
